Great facility, & medical providers taking care of soilders and airmen on an enormous base.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I came in @2000 hrs with a ruptured ear drum. Probably the worst pain ever, 4 hrs later and still nothing for the pain. Only to be told to take Tylenol with ibuprofen... Are you kidding me. After driving 30 mins o the ER the best you can do for me is " take Tylenol". Completely dissapointed in the care. It took over 2 1/2 hrs just to get to the back room. What happened to taking care of soldiers?
I've been using Eglin for a year for myself, wife, 2yo, and newborn. Have had a wonderful experience every step of the way. Providers have taken their time to help us, Medical Residents in the clinic are very great at providing care for us, and they were great with the delivery of our second child. We had a better experience in this hospital for our second than we did at Ft. Belvoire for our first (not to say Belvoire was horrible...but there was definitely better services here).
Spent three years assigned to the base and had my last baby there. There are a few problems in the building, longish waits for labs and pharmacy but overall the care has been good quality. Now that I'm in a new location and experiencing the piss poor side of Tricare I do appreciate how great Eglin was.
Eglin Hospital is the best hospital I have been in. As a teaching hospital you get the best from experienced personal and the fresh out of school personnel to give you the best of care. This also provides the patient faster care because of the additional personnel. I give the Eglin Hospital a 5 star rating.
